Rose is on the way to....

It's been quite time since i wrote !  Oh well, you know.. most of my time is spent at work, then to taking care of lil Rosemary after work, and it sure does seem to me that time is never enough !  By 11pm or so, my battery level drops almost to "low battery sign"!

So, what's been going on for the past few weeks?  Well, thankfully the nausea, tiredness symptoms have all decreased since middle of August and now it's honeymoon time! ~ Eat and sleep all I can!  Though I must say, occassionally I do get butterflies in my tummy when I think about The Day.  I pray all goes well and the pain will not last for more than an hour ! Hehe..

Did a scan last week and Doctor said very likely baby is a ....... let's just say, I should start buying up some blue colours!  hehe! To be honest, I kinda suspected since early pregnancy.  You call it, instinct?  This pregnancy is so different compared to Rosemary.  When I was conceiving her, I had no mood to make myself looking good, I hated make up stuffs, perfumes or anything that would make a lady look good.  Looking back now, I thought I really looked unattractive!  But.. for this one,  I love to play around with make up stuffs, I am very disciplined with skin care and I take pride in dressing up properly just to look good.  hahaahahaha.. really, it may sound weird to some of you but that is exactly what I've been experiencing.

Oh well, I would love to write more about Rosemary's reaction when I told her about there's a baby on the way!  But it's back to work now.  I'll see you guys soon with more updates!

What am I to do?!

I am so in dilemma right now. Boss just told me that he would like me to join our company’s trip somewhere in September this year to Bali, Indonesia. Very likely a 4 days 3 nites stay. But….. (OK guys, I’ve got a news to break here.. I am actually…. 2 mths pregnant ! )

Of course boss already knows but he said it’s still OK to travel even though by then I would be around 5 months. But, hubby is not keen to let me go for this trip as he feels it’s too risky to go travelling and I kinda agree with my hubby because if to those who’ve not seen my pictures when I was carrying Rosemary, you can check them out here. I was very huge by the 3rd trimester. 2nd trimester was just the same. At my 5th month pregnancy, I was bigger than many other mommies who were about 6 - 7 months pregnant!

Point being, maybe I am not a risk taker or whatsoever, and you know how’s company trip are usually, lots of team building and walkings. I don’t think I am capable of doing that. Bali is beautiful and I do hope to go there too but I guess the timing is just not right. Oh gosh.. please tell me what to do!! I have to tell him my decision today but I am so afraid that he’ll get upset as I could see from his expression yesterday that he’s really hoping that I would go along. My boss is one of the nicest boss I’ve got by far, and though I know that in the end, he’ll accept it if I told him I really couldn’t make it, but at the same time I know he really wants me to be in this trip because he feels that it is important since I am in the HR Department and you know how important it is for the HR department o socialize with other employees. Arrrghh… please give me some ideas!

She's dancing !

I have been away from blogging due to workload. But I told myself that by hook or crook, I have to post this video up. My daughter is a big fan of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, but what I didn’t know is, she loves to dance to Mickey Mouse clubhouse music theme. I managed to capture her dance moves for the first time! Since the music coming out from the TV is soft, you won't be able to hear any music at all.  Funny sight though... cause you'll get to see in the background, my husband (who never dances) tries to cerograph some moves for her! It’s really hilarious, you probably hear that I am holding back my laughter, but right after the shot, I laughed my heart out!! Here it is… I hope you’ll enjoy them as much as I did!

Memories of my college days

My boss, my colleague and myself made a trip to Stamford College PJ yesterday to interview some secretarial students, hoping to find one potential to be recruited in our company. Why Stamford College? Well, firstly because I graduated from there in 1997 and by far, even after so many years, I still think that Stamford Secretarial School is the top ranking in producing quality secretarial students.

So as we walked in to the premise, I was impressed with the interior design. I expected to walk in to see the familiar office that I used to walk in and out every day for almost 3 years. But it turned out, they've changed the layout completely......impressive, I would like to add on.  Well, compared to back then, really... trust me!

Reception area.. too bad couldn't snap pictures of other areas!

Memories started flooding in. I remembered clearly how easy it was for me to sneak out to the canteen, as the office I was assigned to was just right next to the canteen. I was never hungry! Those were the good ol' days. As I stood looking at the canteen, I saw the young and vibrant Rose hanging out with a few good friends, over a cup of coffee.

Saturdays was always the best day of the week, because I'll never miss breakfast. Aunty's nasi lemak was awesome. I remembered even going back there with my best friend on Saturday mornings for breakfast, even after we no longer work at Stamford. That power, aunty's nasi lemak was !

As I was having a good time, recalling all these sweet memories, I was "awaken" by the arrival of the Head of Secretarial School and she greeted us warmly. We were escorted to 1st floor and of course I knew the place very well. She brought us and introduced us to the Model Office. Wow... oh wow! This was the 1st office I worked when I was hired, before moving down to the Ground Floor next to the canteen, months later.

Model office, I never thought I would hear this term again. You see, when any secretarial students were to graduate, they'll have to go through what some may call it internship training. But here, secretarial students will have to "imagine" that they are working in a real life office, headed by the Head of School of course, playing the role as the "boss". From time to time, boss will dictate the assignments and then nervous students will try their best to absorb all information which have to be carried out later and must be accomplished!  Imagine the stress.  I remembered, back then, I played the role of a "big sister" to sort of like supervising these students and delegating work assignments to them. Believe me when I said I had fun!

I do miss my ex- 1st boss, and my lecturers. My mentor back then was non other than the pioneer lady boss of School of Secretarial Studies; Mrs Vivianne See. She is elegant, intelligent and really one of a kind! She taught me from grooming, to ethics, etiquette and though I've disappointed her many, many times, she never gave up on me. I found friendship, discipline and love through her guidance and I owe her a big thank you today. Of course I also remembered my other dear lecturers, Puan Lubna, Mrs James, Mrs Jacob, Mr Julian ahem ahem... a thorn among the roses, and well oh well, Ms Thilagavathy. How could I ever forget her! She was my good friend, who's always advising and supporting me. I've not forgotten Puan Nora too. She's one iron lady I tell you but truthfully, with a soft heart and a funny person.  Efficient is her middle name, by the way.

So my dear lecturers, if you ever came across this page, I just want to say thank you for being wonderful and patient with me when I was young and mischievous. The best of me today for being a secretary, reminds me every time of you all.

Mama, Gung gung, Mummy, Daddy and Jesus !

Watch little Rosemary identifying her grandparents and parents.. and Jesus!

Itsy Bitsy Spider...rosemary!

While having dinner at one of the food outlet in Jusco, I decided to "test" little Rosemary.  Watch her identifying number 1, body parts and Itsy Bitsy Spider...

May the Force be with you on a gloomy day

What a gloomy, rainy Friday morning.  As I was driving to work, a couple of times my mind drifted away, imagining myself cuddling comfortably back in my bed, dozing slowly back to dreamland after reading and flipping through a few pages of my favourite bedtime story books - In grown up language literally means fiction books but not fairytale bedtime books if that's what you had in mind!! :)  Anyway, reality hits in when I was almost reaching office. I was prepared to face the long day ahead of me, or .... was I not? Too early to tell.

As I got into the office, I suspect many of my colleagues would have shared the same imagination as I did while I was driving. You could tell from their expressionless face on a gloomy day.

I was hoping the gloomy mood to improve by lunch.

And guess what? I just came back from lunch and to make you feel better reading my depressing blog today, I had a reasonable nice big bowl of Asam Laksa at Pak Hainan with a cold glass of Teh Si.  It was gooooood, considering also that it was a free lunch. *wink wink* LOL  -never mind to those who didn't understood the winking part-

Okay, I have to be honest. My article is heading nowhere today simply because of these reasons:-

1) It’s a gloomy day
2) I am in the mood to go to sleep
3) I am so in need of a…… HOLIDAY!
4) Fine. If holidaying is impossible for now, then a massage would be good…. it’s nice to be pampered you know.
5) Shhhhh… my boss is not around today……so gotta admit, my level of concentration is very, very low. It’s like.. how I wished I took leave today instead of sitting here whining about how gloomy both the weather and rose’s weather are. Geez… I could be lazing either at home now or having a nice massage somewhere! Ahhh..what a nice 2 minutes of that thought....
6) ...and finally, I’m missing dance classes. Yeah, at the back of my mind, I am constantly thinking about my dancing classes. In case some of you who are not aware, I have to stop my dance classes for awhile now due to my commitments at home after work. Time is so limited.

Arrgggh….with so many things on my mind, now you know why I can’t come up with a proper article today. If some of you are feeling the same way as I am now, then “Welcome to the Club*   Don't feel too bad, you are not alone! Hahaha..

Arite friends, you know what, it’s weekend.  Let's cheer up okay.  Here are my list of wishful wishes for all of us for the weekend; May we all be in a better mood tomorrow, May the day be brighter and livelier tomorrow, May all of us find peace in our weekend routine activities and last but not least, May the force be with you!

Watch Rosemary grow!

My apologies for being away as I have been really busy!

How time flies! Little Rosemary will be celebrating her first birthday next month. As I am planning to celebrate her very first birthday, I decided to take a look back at the pictures of her newborn and and how amazing it is to watch my child grow, though I must admit, it was accompanied with mixed up feelings – worries, anxious, happy… oh well, you know what I mean!

Just to share with my readers, here are some of the pictures from the time she was born and pictures taken up to date. I hope you'll enjoy them as much as I did.

so small... so fragile
angry look... must have been irritated for waking her up!
the manja (pampered) look...
sometimes i playfully call her my hamster baby. lol and it all started from this picture.  Obviously she doesn't understands what hamster means becoz she grins whenever i say, "who is mummy's hamster baby"

Finally, she could turn over!

Sitting on her rocking chair
Multi tasking - turning over and finger licking good
Her famous bugs bunny pose. Hmm.. maybe I should trademark this picture. lol
Finally, she gets to sit on baby walker.. though with strict supervision from either me or hubby.
I couldn't believe my eyes, when I caught her sitting by the bed, watching the television!  She was... 10 months old? Don't they grow fast?

Secretary working hard.
She insisted to drink by herself!  Though she still haven't figure it out that she has to tilt the cup to get the water out...
Yummy, mummy!  I would like to believe her expression says that!  Actually she loves this biscuit (Heinz Rusk), it's just that she's learning how to bite, that explains her facial expression!

Alright...that's all for now.. :) Have a great day!

I love Thursdays

I'm always looking forward to Thursdays? Wanna know why? Hehehe.. Because it's my latin class day!! Yup, I love Thursdays!!

Am I spoiling my baby ??

I remembered how frantic it was at the sound of my baby’s cry, especially during the first few months after . Just imagine, being a new mom with no experience at all, situations like that makes us yearn for someone who’s experience to help us to cater to our baby’s needs.

In my case, I was considered quite lucky (minus the part on the confinement lady) because my parents in law live nearby and they were always there to help whenever the call for help strikes. Still, taking care of a child is a daily learning process, whether it’s a case of you’ve been there, done that or being an inexperience mum, just like me. The truth is as a child grows, so will your knowledge.

Recently, I over heard lady A told lady B that someone taught her not to pick her crying baby up because if she did, she’d be overly pampering and spoiling her baby. For a moment, my mind went blank and hear only cricket sound....

OK, honestly? (but then again it’s just my opinion) picking up a crying baby will definitely not spoil/pamper your baby! In fact, from my very own experience, by attending to my crying baby, I am actually “telling” my baby that she’s in safe hands and believe it or not, that will actually help to build up the security and confident feelings in my baby. Not to mention also, the feeling of being loved…. and how can I tell all this ? As of now, she’s 9 months and she hardly cries unless she needs attention. So you see, in a way, I have taught her indirectly that when she cries, mommy will come and soothe you and there’s no need to cry anymore. I also want her to know that she’s safe with mommy and daddy, and that she’s well taken care.
I really do not understand how that sort of affection from a mother to her baby can lead to spoiling the child! Come to think of it, if a baby cries, wouldn’t that probably means she needs something? Babies can’t talk, so obviously the only way to communicate with us is through crying!

Okay, so the next question is, how would I know if I am spoiling my baby then? I am thinking in a scenario whereby your baby is probably at the age of 7 months, and she’s beginning to recognize facial expression. And she wants to bite on to a dirty railing for instance. So yes, in this case, you can be stern with her and tell her “no” by shaking your head or a finger gesture indicating “cannot”. And… she cries. Spoiling in this case to me would mean you immediately pick her up and give in to her crying and allowing her to do what she wanted to do earlier, thus chanelling the wrong signal to your little baby. Your baby will soon understands that if she doesn’t get what she wants, all she has to do is cry and you’ll give in.
However, if you show her that you are upset and if she cries, you stick firm to your gesture and say, “mommy is not happy” and try to explain to her in simple words, like “dirty, cannot bite… this is dirty”, you’ll be amazed to find out that she actually understands! Work your way out by diverting her attention to her toys and she’ll soon forget about biting the dirty railing!
True, sometimes a baby’s crying can drive us up the wall, but hey, isn’t that all part and parcel of being a mother?

Proud mary keep on rolling

A friend of mine, Stella has recently posted up a clip of little Rosemary , at that time she’s probably about 4 months old and she had just learned how to roll over. As she has just mastered the skill, her rolling over skills are still pretty clumsy. Watch her in this clip as she tries to roll over with the cheerleading cheers with funny motions from my brothers and my father. Hope you’ll enjoy…

I could be the next cast for twilight movie ..

I came across a blog and found an interesting article the writer wrote about and decided to feature that fun stuffs on my blog too. It's really nice to fool around with.

And you can do so much more anyway..

See? I told you isn't it.. your 30 minutes have past and you did something great finally!!

3 important men in my life

Father’s Day is just around the corner. To be precise, it’s going to be celebrated on 20 June 2010. Okay, honestly, I can’t think of what to do on that day though for sure I want to do something for the 3 important people in my life. If you can guess them correct, yep they are ….. *drums rolling*….... tada! my beloved father, my dearest husband and my wonderful father in law!

As I am writing this, I am recalling back to those days when I was little, my younger brothers and I will gather up our piggy bank’s savings (most of the times, I contributed the most!) and we buy little gifts for our dad. Of course, as we grew older, the gifts grew bigger too. But since we have all grown up now, the tradition of this gifts have somehow dissolved by itself and nowadays, it’s only celebration over dinner. As simple as it may sound, but to me, it’s the family gathering that matters and most importantly, this little gathering comes with love and utmost appreciation for my father who have worked very hard all these years to provide for the family. Words cannot describe how much I love my dad whom I fondly call Papi.. (okay now, don’t jump the gun, I am not calling him a little puppy! Papi simply means father in Spanish) So you see, with this coming father’s day, I am pretty sure it’s going to be another dinner celebration but as simple and common as it sounds, it’s a special celebration to us because it comes with love and gratitude and appreciating every moment we spent together as a family.

Next on the list, my wonderful father in law. For now, never have I heard of anyone speaking fondly of their in laws and I always thought to myself, geeee… I must be the luckiest girl on earth to have such wonderful and understanding in laws and yep, sometimes I brag a lot too about it! Okay, you may think that I am buttering up my father in law now. Honestly it does not bother me at all. I think my father in law whom I fondly call dad deserved to be told and showed exactly how important he is, including my mom in law, (mum) and for all they have done for me, I want to say a BIG thank you. Really, words cannot describe how blessed I am. So you see, for that also, even though it may be going to be perhaps, just over a lunch celebration, still it’s a very special celebration to me because this celebration comes with love and yes, gratitude too. I am so blessed too because they have been taking such good care of little Rosemary and I know little Rosemary loves them dearly.

Finally, my beloved hubby. A direct message this time....This is going to be your first Father’s Day celebration and before I say anything else, I just want to wish you a Happy Father’s Day! You have been a great husband and a wonderful daddy. Of course, we have our ups and downs, but we always managed to pull it through. We understand each other so well and no matter what, at the end of the day, it’s all about love and trust. You have been a great daddy to little Rosemary and I know too that little Rosemary is very proud of you. Thank you too for being such a great, loving, understanding husband and a wonderful daddy.

So on this Father’s Day, I am taking this opportunity to write here to my papi, dad and my hubby.. wishing you all, Happy Father’s Day!

Here's dedicating to all the wonderful fathers in the world... :)

Labor pain experience - Part 3 - Phase 3

After going through this agony for quite some time, Dr Damo dropped by to see how I was doing. All I could do was to cry and cry and cry. He smiled with a pitiful expression, to me it was as if he knew the pain. While he was standing at the edge of my bed, he gently lifted up my legs with the assistance from the midwife and next thing I know.. I was peeing a pail of water uncontrollably! That’s right. Dr Damo had officially broke my water bag. Plus point though, no pain on that. Maybe because the contractions has overcome this. The contractions has now reached to what I believe is at it’s peak. I didn’t know when to push but the pain was so great that my instinct tells me to push. But the nurses kept saying.. hold on.. don’t waste your energy, it’s not the right time yet. Instead, breathe.. follow the breathing method and it might help. As much as I wanted to listen to her advise, because anything I could do to reduce the pain, I would want to do it. But the truth is, it wasn’t easy. At that state, it seems like you are trapped in a world of your own. A world filled with nothing but intense pain. I clinched on my hands around my hubby’s fingers so tightly that he too felt the pain. The pain of his fingers being clinched too hard in between the wedding band. After some time, I think he too couldn’t take the pain and he excused himself reassuring me he’ll be back very soon.

Eventually, the need to push took place. It is as if, your body commands you to push and with all the strength I had, I begin to push. Even the midwife wasn’t prepared for that because although she did tell me to notify her the moment I felt like pushing, I didn’t have the time and energy to do so. I guess the saying is true; action speaks louder than words. She had to hurriedly call for Dr Damo. In the meantime, I pushed at every time the urge appears. So here’s the thing that you have to remember, push only when you have the urge to do so, otherwise you will be really wasting your energy if you try to push too soon. And try to breathe the breathing technique that you have been taught because, to me.. it did helped a bit. Believe me, at that time, anything that is a bit means a lot.

Finally, at about almost 3pm, Dr Damo came in again and this time he was dressed prepared for the delivery. As I was pushing with all my heart, he instructed me when to stop. But by then, the urge to push has become so overwhelming that you'll be blowing and panting and all you want to do is just push and push and push! But I was a good girl. I managed to follow Dr Damo’s instruction and after awhile he cut my opening slightly more. Yes yes I know it sounds scary but the truth again, it is not painful. Seriously, you won't feel the cut at all. Anyway, that was when my husband came rushing in to the room for no one had time to inform him earlier until Dr Damo noticed him not being around. I have to give my hubby credit for not fainting on the spot as that was the time my baby's head has reached the opening. And after 2 more forceful pushes following Dr Damo’s instructions, out came little Rosemary baby.

Very quickly, Dr Damo placed little Rosemary baby on my chest. Weakly, I looked up to see my husband and there he stood, stunned and with tears streaming down his cheeks. I turned to look down at my little angel again and there, right before my eyes, the most beautiful thing I have ever seen, and the most beautiful cry I have ever heard was just there, right on my chest. I was in awe and it took me a few seconds to realize that I was crying too. This time though I was crying with joy. I did it. An intense relief slowly emerged and I was thanking god for the safe delivery and I was happy that it was all over. Exhausted as I may be, I was thrilled and I couldn’t wait to see my baby again knowing that she’s safe in good hands and of course, you can imagine my hubby happily trotting to the nursery room.....

Of course, the delivery procedure was not over. Dr Damo had to remove the placenta and do some stitching. But at this point, you'll be too tired to feel anymore pain. Best is to just lie down and try to catch some sleep while you still can.

Labor pain experience - Part 3 - Phase 2

About 8.30am, my hubby arrived and while he was sitting next to me, the morning duty nurse dropped by and gently told me to take a bath after my breakfast as I will be sent off to the delivery room in less than half an hour’s time. As difficult as it
was, I made my way to the bathroom and when I came out, the same nurse was already waiting for me. As I got onto my bed, she told me to lie down and obediently I did as she told me to pull up my garment and lie sideways. I thought to myself, oh gosh.. not again! This time though, she pushed something into my the other opening!! Seriously, I didnt know that I have to be “molested” so many times!! This is crazy! Eventually I found out that they inserted enema, which is necessary so that you will poo out all the stuffs in your intestines because really, you don’t want to be pooing all those stuffs out while pushing your baby.

Finally, at about almost 9 plus in the morning, I was wheeled to the delivery room. While the contractions has somehow subsided a bit, it was still a very uncomfortable feeling as I didn’t have any sleep the night before and I guess I was just pretty overwhelmed by the contractions. While I was lying down patiently on the delivery room bed, one of the midwives came and put me on drips. Drips to induce. Let me tell you this. This is seriously one hell of an effective induction method. In less than 30 minutes, I was already crying out in pain. And yet, the midwife told me… relax.. relax.. this is only the beginning. I mean.. how can this be only the beginning when the pain is so unbearable!! My whole tummy was so aching, you name them... cramps, stabbing, twisting, pulling, it really felt like my whole tummy was rotating clock & anti clock wise. I am not trying to frighten you but really, the pain is toe-curling. I would be lying if I told you child birth is as easy as pooping.

But here's the thing I wish to highlight. Today, looking back, I can tell you that I did a pretty good job and yes, I would want to have a 2nd child. The truth is women are born to be able to take this pain. You are actually stronger than you think. So the next time a guy comes up and tell you that women are weak, go right up and punch his face!

Labor pain experience - Part 3 - Phase 1

I have to apologize now that it took me awhile to post this up. Thanks to the long weekend which means I would have limited internet access… Anyway, here it is and because this part 3 is the most important part of all the parts, I have to break it down to smaller parts i.e. Phase 1, Phase 2 and Phase 3 to make this article easier to read…

On the 7th of Sept 2010, it was a hot afternoon and I thought I deserved a nice hefty lunch. And so, I indulged myself to a mouth-watering banana leave rice. Yummy! Finally in the late afternoon, I got myself admitted to the hospital. I am telling you this. I was way too anxious, way too scared and way too impatient. I began to imagine that I had contractions but of course, it was merely imaginations. I got my little cupboard which stood next to my bed, packed up with lots of maternity pads, (very important ya because trust me, after delivery, you will need ample of that), and filled the drawer sections with my toiletries stuffs. I got my hubby to buy a few magazines for me too since I will be spending my time alone in the night. (Yup, the hospital didn’t allow anybody to stay overnight)

At about 9.30pm, after a simple dinner, the nurses came in to check my dilation. Okay, let me tell you this. Checking on the dilation means the nurse would have to shove her fingers into my opening! The more fingers in, means the wider the dilation has become. And believe me, it’s not a pleasant feeling. After murmuring to each other, they left my place. I was beginning to think maybe they will be sending me home again! But less than 30 minutes later, one of the nurses that stood there watching while I was being checked on my dilation came back with a small thing that looks like a little tube. And after instructing me to pull my legs up, she pulled up my hospital garment and warned me that it’s going to feel slightly uncomfortable. And next thing I know, she inserted some tablet into the opening! Mind you, my heart was pounding and I have no idea what was the procedure for until later on, a senior nurse came by to visit me and told me I have just been induced and that contractions should developed in about 30 minutes. As I gasped in fright, she smiled and assured me that the contraction that is about to come is only the beginning and it’s still a long way more to come for the real thing.

In about almost less than an hour, I began to have contractions. And now that I know how contractions felt like, I am never going to complain about period pain ever again! The nurse’s words kept ringing on my mind… this is just the beginning.. this is just the beginning… just the beginning. How can this be just the beginning when I am already in pain. I fear to think more.

What was about to come was beyond anyone’s imagination. Put it this way, it felt like someone really heavy weighted, sits on your stomach, and at the same time pinching your tummy hard and twisting the side of your stomach with no mercy and that kind of pain lasts for about 30 seconds. And then, it stops. Occasionally I can feel my little baby kicking me aggressively. And the pain emerged again after about 10 minutes later. Imagine that! And this went on the whole night. Yup, let me tell you again. From about 10 plus till the next morning. All I could do was to cry alone while sending text messages to Joe and my husband who was pretty helpless as he couldn’t be with me.

Labor pain experience - Part 2

I remembered on one night, I had what I thought was contractions. At that time, I wasn’t sure if it was contractions but it felt like tummy cramps. It wasn’t painful, it was just quite uncomfortable. But since it was bearable, I waited until the following day. The mild cramps was still going on so I decided to see my gynae. Upon arriving, the reception got me on the priority list and within minutes, a doctor attended to me. As he was a new doctor and my gynae was not around on that day, he called my gynae up and after a while he came back and said he was going get me admitted. I was thrilled. Wow, this is finally happening. Joe, my best friend was anxious when I told her I am getting admitted, yes, the Godma to be of my child at that time was so happy that she broke the news to her family too.

The next day, my gynae, Dr Damo dropped by and checked on my dilation. Turned out to be, it was a false alarm! He said it’s nowhere near 1cm! Sigh, and here I am "texting" everyone that I am going to delivery! So shy.. blekkk

In fact, I was confused because it was already end of August 2010 but then, Dr Damo told me things like that happens (due date delays) and that very likely, I will deliver only in the 1st week of September. And so I had to go back and continue walking.

I was in again the hospital a few more days later but again…another false alarm. Everyone commented.. oh little Rosemary is getting very comfortable in her water bed. Not to mention too, she was very active and did a lot of kicking in my tummy. My interpretation of kicking would be dancing moves in my tummy. Even Godma commented that she is probably latin dancing in there, following in mommy’s footsteps. Silently….. I was sooo proud. Hehe..

My next follow up visit was on 4th of September and upon consultation, Dr Damo told me… "looks like we’re going to have her on the 8th September 10"! My heart skipped a beat. That’s such an important date to me. It’s Mother Mary’s birthday! Wow. I went home smiling at every point I thought of that.

Did I mention that I had a hard time getting a comfy sleeping position? Oh yes, towards the 3rd trimester and especially on the 8th month onwards, it was extremely uncomfortable and I had many sleepless nights. They say that this is actually mother’s nature way of “training” a mother to be, to be mentally prepared with the upcoming sleepless nights! I think that is so true.

Labor pain experience - Part 1

As I am writing about my delivery experience here, I am seriously thinking about it again.. should I really share on something that is pretty personal? But then I thought, some of my friends are about to experience this and so I totally understand your excitements and the tons of questions you have on mind. For me, I remembered clearly that I had a lot of question marks on my mind too, especially with “The Day” drawing closer. And at every opportunity striked, I asked a good friend of mine, Aliza with many “technical” questions (if you know what I mean, the crucial in-depth information about the delivery process ) Hmm…actually, to be honest, I was more interested to know about the pain. “How’s it going to be like? Was it painful? Ok, re-phrase - was it very, very painful? Will I be able to bear the pain? How does a contraction feels like?” And so much more, too many to list down here! And since she has 2 kids already, I completely depended on her stories and got myself mentally and fearfully prepared. Sigh, looking back now, thank you so much Aliza for sharing your stories, and thanks also to Ann Nye…

So back to my sharing now, to make it easier for my dear readers, I shall divide this story into 3 parts. The 1st part shall consists of my brief preparation close to the delivery date, where else the 2nd part shall be about the day I got myself admitted and last but not least, “the Day” on part 3.

Part 1

Flash back… It was probably 3 weeks to my due date, 31st August 2009. As you can see in the picture that I posted from my previous article, I was huge… And because I was so worried that I may have a hard time pushing my little baby out when the time comes, I decided to walk a lot. Mind you, with my elephant weight + exercising + on a hot weather = it’s a really a very tough job. But I had to. And so, to solve the hot weather issue, I decided to walk from one end to the other end in my favourite Jusco shopping mall. It’s still an exercise anyway.. except for it’s in an air-conditioned place. Hehe..

Anyway, I walked like twice or thrice a week in Jusco. I think I was there so frequently that perhaps some Jusco staff who’ve seen me many times probably thought that I’m working with the management, secretly inspecting on their work performance! Even the achi aunty cleaner asked me why am I still walking about so actively when I look like I’m going to pop any minute. But I walked anyway. I think, if I can recall correctly, I quit walking only on the week of my due date.

Me in ad...? Seeing is believing :)

I can't believe my eyes when my mom showed me this advertisement clip recently. I was in this ad when I was like... 10 years old? And after so many years, my mom managed to retrieve this ad from one of her VCRs.

Honestly, it's weird to watch yourself in TV but...at the same time, hey..this is so sentimental to me! Here you go... see if you can spot me!
